Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott announced today that Matia Marcantuoni will undergo surgery to repair damage that he sustained to his left shoulder.
Matia’s surgery, scheduled for the end of this week will effectively end his 2011-12 season. The decision to complete the surgery came after a second set-back with his shoulder on January 7, 2012 in Erie. It is based on consultations with orthopedic physicians that work closely with the team.
Having the surgery at this stage will allow Matia the time to rehabilitate and condition for the start of the 2012-13 season.
