It`s that time of year again. We are now accepting applications for the 2008 Future Stars Hockey Camp from last year`s participants. The Future Stars Hockey Camp will run from August 11-15, 2008 and it is open to players of all skill levels. The Future Stars Elite program will operate from August 18-22 and it is open to players who are currently on an A, AA or AAA card. The cost of each camp will be $390 including taxes. The two programs will mirror each other, the only difference being the entry requirements.

The early registration period for the 2008 Camp began on January 2, 2008. As of that date, players that participated in the 2007 Camp are eligible to sign up. On January 14, 2008, players that were on the waiting list for last year`s camp are eligible to sign up. We will then open the camp registration to the public on January 21, 2008.

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Please be aware that even though players who participated in the 2007 camp have the first chance to register they are not guaranteed a spot. We remind you that we only accept four goaltenders, 12 defensemen and 18 forwards per age group. Due to the fact that there is a limited number of positions available for each session, we strongly suggest you drop off your application in person to our offices at The Aud to ensure we receive it.

The Future Stars program has been designed to concentrate on developing hockey skills and they do not provide off-ice recreational activities. Instead the program concentrates on power skating, skill development and off-ice training techniques. Participants experience the opportunity to work with our coaching, training and dressing room staff during this camp. From Monday to Thursday, the participants receive two hours of ice per day. The first hour is power skating followed by an hour of practice. They then take part in off-ice activities. On Friday, the players in each group are split into two teams for a game.
