![]() Kitchener, ON: Justin Azevedo scored a pair of goals as the Kitchener Rangers defeated the Guelph Storm 5-3 before a crowd of 5,709 at The Aud. The Storm opened the scoring when Brandon Greenside beat Mavric Parks with his 1st goal of the season at 2:45 in the first period. In his first appearance after being returned by the Rochester Americans, the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, Mike Duco tied the game with his first goal of the season at 14:45. Justin Azevedo scored to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead. Yannick Weber scored on the powerplay at 8:08 to open the second period scoring. Luke Pither answered back while on the powerplay to bring the Storm within one goal at 15:18. Nick Spaling scored his 4th goal of the season to give the Rangers a 4-2 lead after two periods of play. Azevedo put the game away when he scored his second goal of the game on the powerplay at 12:14. Tim Priamo responded moments later scoring at 15:51 bringing it to a 5-3 final. Matt Halischuk had four assists, while linemates Justin Azevedo finished with 2 goals and an assist and Nick Spaling had a goal and 3 assists. The Rangers next home game is Friday, October 12th against the Ottawa 67's. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
