Guelph ON: Rangers hold onto lead after intense 6 on 4 action in the last minute of play before 4,445 fans in Guelph.
The Guelph Storm's Drew Doughty opened the scoring on the power play beating Josh Unice high on the stick side at 2:12 of the 1st period. Teammate Brandon Buck, again on the powerplay, gives the Storm a two goal lead just over a minute later.
Matt Halischuk answers back for the Rangers taking a pass from Nick Spaling at 5:06 mark.. Mikkel Boedker, from the top of the circle, puts it top shelf to tie the game 2-2.
Drew Doughty's point shot was deflected in front by Leigh Salters, restoring the Guelph lead. Salters scored his second of the period giving the Storm a two goal lead at 14:13.
Kitchener Rangers Mavric Parks replaces Unice. Halischuk sets up Spaling before the period ends, making it 4-3 for Guelph.
Spaling redirected Weber's shot past Tom McCollum to tie the score (4-4). Justin Azevedo jumped on a loose puck in teh slot to give the Rangers their first lead in the game (5-4). Spaling scored his third of the game as he buried the backhand off a pass from Halischuk.
At 16:49 into the third, Brandon Buck gives the Storm their 5th goal of the game. Guelph pulls their goalie giving them a 2 man advantage but are unable to score the equalizer as the Rangers win their 3rd road game of the year in 4 games played.
Rangers are on the road to Erie for their next game on Wednesday, October 24, with a 7:30pm start time.
