Biography
Acquired via trade from the Peterborough Petes in 2012.
Puempel collected the 2009-10 Emms Family Award as the OHL Rookie of the Year after scoring a league-best 33 goals and 64 points in his first season. He was also named the 2009-10 Canadian Hockey League Rookie of the Year.
A natural goal-scorer who shows great vision and creativity in his playmaking, Puempel was chosen in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.
