Biography
Acquired by the Kitchener Rangers in the 1st round, 22nd overall in the 2011 CHL Import Draft.
Faksa combines his speed and skill to be a constant threat. He is a strong skater and has excellent puck protection skills that he uses to drive the net.
A native of the Czech Republic, Faksa represented his country at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Alberta.
Faksa was honoured with the Rookie of the Year award at the Kitchener Rangers Annual Awards Banquet in 2012. He was named the OHL Rookie of the Month three times, in November 2011 and January and March 2012.
During the 2011-12 season, Faksa sat 1st in overall rookie league scoring with 29 goals and 37 assists.
In June 2012, he was selected by the Dallas Stars 13th overall in the first round of the National Hockey League Entry Draft.
